Your journal stays on your device.
truss stores your journal locally on your phone. Rerk does not receive your journal through the app. You do not need an account, and the app does not include advertising, analytics, tracking, or a service that uploads or synchronizes your journal to a truss server.
The information you choose to keep can include your name, training goals, routines, gym and equipment preferences, workouts, exercises, weights, repetitions, effort ratings, rest times, activity entries, body measurements, notes, and photos. The app uses this information on your device to record sessions, calculate training statistics, and show your history and progress.
Health access is optional.
With your permission, truss can read step totals and exercise sessions from Apple Health on iOS or Health Connect on Android. Exercise records can include activity type, dates, duration, distance, source, and identifiers used to avoid duplicate imports.
Step totals are used for your daily goals and activity summaries. Exercise sessions are shown for you to review before importing them into your local journal. truss requests read access only; it does not write records to Apple Health or Health Connect.
Imported health information stays on your device. It is not sent to Rerk or used for advertising, marketing, sale, data brokerage, or research. truss uses Health Connect information only for the fitness features described here, in accordance with the Health Connect permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
You can use the training log without health access. Turn off automatic step refresh in truss or revoke access in your device’s Apple Health or Health Connect settings. Revoking access stops future reads; it does not remove information already saved in your journal. You can delete that local information separately. Deleting truss data does not delete the source records in your health service.
Photos, notifications, and widgets
If you choose photos for your journal, truss copies the selected images into its local storage. It does not upload them. Saving a summary image to your photo library uses the permission your device requires for that action. The app does not request camera or microphone access.
Optional notifications provide local rest-timer alerts. truss does not use remote push notifications. Widgets and Live Activities can display workout details, timers, or activity totals on your home or Lock Screen. You control their visibility through truss and your device settings.
Backups and sharing are your choice.
You can export a full backup, import or export CSV files, and share or save summary images. Full backups include journal information, settings, and photos, and may include imported health information. These files can contain sensitive personal information.
truss passes an export to the file location, app, or recipient you choose through your device’s sharing tools. Rerk does not receive a copy through that process. If you save a file to cloud storage or share it with another service, that destination’s privacy practices apply. Device-level backup and restore, where available, are controlled by your operating system and its settings.
Keeping, correcting, and deleting data
Your journal remains locally until you edit or delete it, replace it with a restored backup, or remove the app and its local data. You can review and correct entries in truss and export a copy in Settings / Your data.
To clear the journal, open Settings / Your data / Delete all local data and confirm. This removes saved journal information, preferences, and app-owned photos. If truss reports that some files could not be removed, repeat the deletion to retry that cleanup.
Deleting local data does not erase files you previously exported, images saved to your photo library, copies held by recipients, or device backups. Manage those copies in the location or service where you saved them. Rerk cannot recover or remotely erase a journal that stays on your device. Use your device’s screen lock and security settings to control access to it.
Contacting Rerk
If you email contact@rerk.dev, Rerk receives your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. This information is used to respond to support or privacy requests and is retained only as needed for those purposes and applicable legal obligations. Email providers process messages to deliver that correspondence. You do not need to send your journal or health records to ask a question.
You can use the same address to ask about this policy or request access, correction, or deletion of information you have sent directly to Rerk.
This website has separate analytics choices.
The website’s hosting provider processes technical request information to deliver and protect these pages. Optional Google Analytics on rerk.dev and truss.rerk.dev stays off unless you allow it. A necessary preference cookie remembers your analytics choice for up to 180 days.
Use Privacy & analytics in the footer to read the website notice, change your choice, or withdraw consent. Website analytics is separate from the truss mobile app and does not receive your app journal or imported health information.
Changes to this policy
